Poodles are available in three size categories: Standards must exceed 15 inches in height at the shoulder; Miniatures measure 15 inches or less; Toys reach a maximum height of 10 inches. All three types share the same structure and proportions. At dog shows, Poodles are typically presented in the ornate Continental clip. However, most pet owners opt for the more straightforward Sporting clip, where the coat is trimmed to accentuate the outline of the squarely built, smoothly muscled body.
Put aside any preconceived ideas you might have about Poodles: they are enthusiastic, athletic, and exceptionally intelligent dogs with incredible versatility.
